Refund Policy
Monster Books LLC
Refund & Cancellation Policy Effective December 9, 2025

General Policy All fees for consulting and professional services are non-refundable except as expressly stated in this policy or in a separate written agreement signed by both parties.

Project-Based / Fixed-Fee Engagements

Up to 50% of the total project fee may be refundable if Client cancels in writing before any substantive work has begun (defined as the earlier of delivery of first draft/deliverable or 5 business days after the project start date).

Once substantive work has begun, the fee is 100% earned and non-refundable, even if Client later terminates the engagement.

If Monster Books LLC terminates the engagement for any reason other than Client’s material breach, Client will be refunded any fees paid for undelivered portions of the scope of work.

Retainer / Monthly / Subscription Consulting Services

Monthly retainers are billed in advance and are non-refundable.

Client may terminate the retainer relationship with 30 days’ written notice. No refund will be issued for the current month already paid, but no further monthly charges will occur after the notice period.

Unused retainer hours do not roll over and are not refundable or creditable unless expressly agreed in writing.

Hourly / Time & Materials Engagements

All time billed is non-refundable.

Deposits or pre-paid hour blocks are non-refundable but may be applied as a credit toward future services within 12 months of payment.

Training, Workshops, and Group Programs

Cancellations more than 30 days before the event: full refund minus a $150 administrative fee.

Cancellations 15–30 days before the event: 50% refund.

Cancellations less than 15 days before the event: no refund.

No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

Expenses & Third-Party Costs All out-of-pocket expenses (travel, software licenses, filing fees, etc.) that have already been incurred or are non-cancellable are non-refundable.

Exceptional Circumstances / Satisfaction Guarantee (Optional – include only if you want to offer this) If Client is dissatisfied with a specific deliverable and notifies Monster Books LLC in writing within 7 days of delivery, we will revise the deliverable at no additional charge. If, after one round of reasonable revisions, Client remains dissatisfied, Monster Books LLC will refund the portion of the fee attributable to that specific deliverable (not to exceed 25% of the total project fee).

Force Majeure No refunds will be issued for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond our control (acts of God, war, pandemics, government orders, etc.).

Governing Law This policy shall be governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kanawha County, West Virginia.

Modification of Policy Monster Books LLC reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. The version in effect at the time of engagement shall apply.
We highly recommend you have your West Virginia business attorney give this a quick review before publishing, but the language above complies with West Virginia consumer protection laws (W. Va. Code § 46A-6-101 et seq.) and is standard in the consulting industry.
